Relocate From Kenya: Top 3 Ways to Immigrate to Canada
- The Express Entry system;
- The Provincial Nominee Program; and
- Studying in Canada.
1. Express Entry
The Express Entry system manages the 3 Canadian federal economic immigration programs and is aimed at skilled workers who want to live and work in Canada. It works on a point-based system known as the CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) which ranks candidates according to factors such as your age, language skills, education, and work experience.
To submit your Canada visa application through the Express Entry system, you will need to create an online Express Entry profile. Your profile will be entered in a draw pool, which takes place every 2 weeks, from which the highest scoring candidates will be selected to receive an ITA (Invitation to Apply) for permanent residence in Canada.
2. Provincial Nominee Program
As a highly skilled person you may have a great chance of receiving an ITA through the Express Entry system however this does not guarantee that you will find a job once you immigrate to Canada.
Another great way to submit your Canada visa application is through a Provincial Nominee Program that has an Express Entry category. It is important to ensure that your occupation is in demand in your chosen Canadian territory or province. This will increase your chances of receiving a PN (Provincial Nomination) which is worth 600 CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System). Your maximum CRS score is 1200 which means that by having a PN you will already have half of the possible points needed to receive an ITA.
Another benefit to applying through a PNP with an Express Entry category is that having an Express Entry profile, allows a province/territory to select your profile from the Express Entry draw pools that take place every 2 weeks. This means that your chances of being successful in your Canadian visa application are greatly increased simply by having an Express Entry profile.

3. Study in Canada
Did you know that when you study in Canada and graduate from a designated Canadian learning institution you may be eligible to apply to extend your stay and work in Canada through the PGWPP (Post Graduate Work Permit Program)? This allows you to gain valuable Canadian work experience in occupations with a NOC skill 0 or level A or B, which optimizes your chances of getting permanent residence in Canada through the CEC (Canadian Experience Class). After just 1 year of work experience, you may be eligible to apply for the CEC through the Express Entry system and could receive permanent residence in as little as 4 months!
